How do I make a reservation?
First, check the Dinners page on 2L Farms website (Farm to Table Dinners).  Once you’ve decided on the dinner(s) you would like to attend, follow links to “Buy tickets to……” which will take you to our third-party ticketing service (Brown Paper Tickets) offering secure online purchases, and enter the number of tickets you wish to purchase, then follow prompts to complete your purchase.  You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been processed, so be sure to enter an email address so that we can communicate the event details to you.   About a week before the event, we will email you a reminder with the details and a map to the farm.

What can I expect?
Once you arrive at the 2L Farms, you will be led to the patio area for passed hors d’oeuvres and enjoy a seasonal “cocktail”.   During the cocktail hour, you are free to enjoy the farm setting, view the cattle grazing in the fields, and  visit the vegetable, herb and flower gardens.   You will also have the opportunity to meet our local guest chef as he or she prepares dinner.   You’ll also meet the other guests, the farmers and food artisans who have contributed to the evening’s meal.

Once all guests have arrived, we will sit down to a four-course plated dinner prepared by the chef that features our 100% grass-fed-beef  and specialty garden products.   In keeping with our focus on local food and supporting other local farmers, ingredients that are not raised or produced on our farm are sourced locally.  Each course will be paired with a carefully selected wine, beer, or cocktail.   Throughout the meal, the chef  will discuss the ingredients used, where they came from, and the inspiration for each dish.

What time do events begin?
The cocktail hour typically begins at 6:30 p.m. We will sit at tables set up on the lawn and begin the four-course plated dinner at approximately 7:30 p.m. The actual dinner usually lasts a couple of hours. The main entree is served just at sunset, which makes dessert by candlelight.  As the season progresses, our start times will vary with the sunset, so be sure to check your event date and start time.  Our guests are welcome to linger into the evening and enjoy the peaceful farm experience.

What is the price per person and what’s included?
Unless specified otherwise, dinner tickets are $90.00 per person and are non-refundable. The ticket price includes a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres along with a seasonal “cocktail”, a four-course plated dinner with wine or beer pairings at each course, guest chef and service staff fees, and gratuities.

What forms of payment do you accept?
All payments must be made online through Brown Paper Tickets.  You may pay with Visa, Mastercard or American Express.  Sorry, we cannot accept cash or checks.

How many people can attend?
We seat up to 30 people sit at each event.

Is a menu available beforehand?
Because 2L Farms uses fresh and local ingredients that are harvested at the height of their season, our chefs may be working up to the day of the dinner preparing a menu for our guests.   Each guest will have a printed menu available at dinner.

Can you accommodate people with food allergies or dietary restrictions, such as vegetarians or vegans?
Our chefs are asked to create a single four-course menu of their design emphasizing our farm’s 100% grass-fed-beef and garden specialities.  These dinners are not appropriate for vegans and those with dietary restrictions. If you are a vegetarian and have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please contact us at  after you purchase your ticket so we can make arrangements with our featured chef for that particular event.

Do you accept reservations for large groups?
Because seating is limited to 30 people per dinner, the maximum tickets allowed per order is 30. We do not assign seats at the table. If you would like to sit together, please arrive promptly at the event’s start time and let us know so we can make the necessary arrangements.  However, if you are thinking of having a large group, you might want to consider a Special Event and making it a private party.  Contact us at Info for more information and available dates.

What if I purchase tickets  but cannot attend?
Due to the nature of our events, we cannot refund your tickets.  However, tickets are transferable.  If you transfer your tickets, please email us at  Info.   Include the purchaser’s name, quantity of tickets transferred, and contact information so that we may communicate the details of the event to the new guest(s).

Is there a waitlist for sold-out events?
Sorry, no. Because tickets are non-refundable, no additional seats become available.

Does dinner include a farm tour?  
No, we will not do a formal tour of the farm on event nights.  However, Cheryl will be available all evening to answer any of your questions regarding our grass-fed beef, garden products or farming in general.

What if it rains?
All dinners are held rain or shine.  We will have large party tents set up in the event of rain.  Parking is a very short walk to the lawn where dinners are held.

How do I get to the farm?
Navigating via GPS should be direct.   However, these directions can also guide you straight to the farm:

• Take I-70W to Exit 224, toward Leavenworth/Lansing (the last free exit before entering the Kansas Turnpike).
• Turn RIGHT onto KS 7 HWY,  go North about 5 miles.
• Turn RIGHT onto MARXEN, going East about 1 mile.
• Turn LEFT onto 131st STREET, which starts as blacktop but turns into a gravel road, going North about .5 mile.
• 2L Farms is located on the Right.

Estimated driving time from downtown Kansas City is approximately 25 minutes

What about parking?
As you drive onto the property, you’ll see a 100-yr old farm house on your left.   Parking is available adjacent to the barn or further back along the driveway on the left or opposite the barn.

When will I receive directions and details?
You will receive directions to the farm,  appropriate attire, and final details by email about one week prior to the date of your dinner event.

May I purchase some of your garden specialties at the event?
We will have a selection of our garden specialties available for you to purchase.   We accept cash or debit/credit cards for purchases made at the farm.  Checks are not accepted at  2L Farms.

Do you host private dinners?
Yes. The minimum group size is 20 people. Please contact us for availability.   Contact us at Info for further details.
